About Bologna Processes
After our country was included in the scope of the Bologna Process in 2001, the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits of the courses in the curriculum at the University were determined.
Diploma Supplement (DS) is given to the graduates as of the 2004-2005 academic year, when the first undergraduate graduates were produced, after all the studies envisaged by the Council of Higher Education were completed.
Initiation of studies on preparing the learning outcomes for the associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels of the instruction programs carried out at the University and re-determining the workload-based ECTS of the courses in the curriculum in accordance with the "Qualifications Framework for European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA)" and "National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in Turkey" has been approved in the Senate meeting dated January 8, 2010, and studies have been carried out in accordance with the specified calendar. Instruction programs compatible with the "Qualifications Framework for European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA)" and "National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in Turkey" have been put into effect as of 2010-2011 academic year.
Diploma Supplement Label was given to the University on October 5, 2010 by the European Commission. The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document, which increases the quality and recognition of the higher education institutions while providing an international credibility.
Izmir University of Economics became the first foundation university in Turkey to receive the ECTS Label as a result of its application in 2011 to receive the ECTS Label, which is an important indicator of the quality of education in higher education, given by the European Commission every year.
